MTV.com has premiered a clip from The Thing, the Universal Pictures prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 horror classic. Director Matthijs Van Heijningen’s film focuses on the Norwegian scientific that finds an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice of Antarctica, well before the arrival of Kurt Russell and the other Americans. The Thing, which opens Oct. 14, stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ulrich Thomsen, Eric Christian Olsen and Trond Espen Seim.
