Welcome back to part two our feature on Alisa Farrington, Ms. November 2011, Cosplay Babe of the Month. Alisa thank for a great interview so far. Now let’s jump back into the second portion of our feature.
Comics Ninja:What comic books are you personally reading right now? Favorite games or Anime?
Alisa:I haven’t bought much in the way of comics lately and I haven’t decided if the reboot is worth checking out yet. I bought a graphic novel of Red Sonja. lol. I need to pickup Superman #1 because there’s a police officer named after me in it.
Favorite games would be mostly fighting games. Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, etc. My favorite anime hasalways been anything by Rumiko Takahashi, as well as Tenchi Muyo, Ah My Goddess, Cowboy Bebop, and so many more to list.
Comics Ninja: We notice the Ferret love on you FB page. While the little suckers are cute it would seem akin to adopting a mischievous three year old, any good stories?
Alisa: If you’ve been keeping up with Loki’s latest antics, I did catch him running through the house with a kitchen knife. The next day he had my Abbey Chase gun. I was beginning to understand perhaps why these guys are banned in two states. Today, I caught him climbing up on a table to get to my car keys. Luckily I caught him in the act.
Comics Ninja: We also noticed your connection to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Are still connected with the Atlanta version or go to the midnight shows?
Alisa:Rocky Horror is something I started as a teen also and became a big part of my life for a while. I’ll always have a place in my heart for Rocky and will always love it, but I’ve sort of moved on at the same time. I go to occcassional shows here, but I’m more of a performer at heart than an audience member when it comes to Rocky. My favorite character to play is Columbia. I do make shows maybe once or twice a year here, but I’m no longer on a cast, no.
Comics Ninja: What character would you be if you could be any character in real life?
Alisa:Might be fun to be Lum or Wonder Girl. Someone with powers and looks and who can fly. lol
Comics Ninja: If you could have any superpowers what would they be?
Alisa: Teleportation would be nice. Super fast healing would be awesome. Flight would be just plain fun.
Comics Ninja: What costumes are you planning in the near future?
Alisa: Remake of classic Cammy, and the all red Wonder Girl. That’s all for the immediate future.
Comics Ninja:Awesome, send the Ninja Nation the Cammy picgtures first! Alright, back to the questions, any advice for fellow cosplayers planning to go to the conventions dressed as their favorite characters in the future?
Alisa: Sure. Don’t take yourself too seriously. We’re dressing as fictional characters.
Costuming is about fun. Pick a character you love or can identify with. If you want to costume as an insanely in shape character, put the time and effort into getting in shape. If you have thin skin about the possibility of people saying mean things online, costuming may not be the best hobby of choice.
Comics Ninja: Thank you for the interview. Before we go, do you have any websites or links where fans can find out more about you, see more pictures, etc?
Alisa: Thanks for having me! I post my best and newest costuming shots to my Deviant Art account, http://alisakiss.deviantart.com/.
Thank you Alisa, wonderful interview. From all of the fanboys and girls in Ninja Nation, keep up the great work and check back in with us often. And finally, before we go, a couple more of Alisa’s stunning shots. enjoy!
