Ms. March 2012, Ginny McQueen as Lum.
Welcome back to part two of our feature and interview with March 2012 Cosplay Babe of the Month, Ginny McQueen. Great first half of the interview so far so let’s get right back to it.
Comics Ninja: We note that you are an anime and manga girl, any Marvel, DC, Image comic books that you are reading right now?
Ginny: I’m actually writing a script right now and working on a cosplay-related show, so all I’ve been reading is reference materials. No time for pleasure reading!
Comics Ninja: Ooh, we like that idea for a show. And now for the tough part of the interview. Which is better DC or Marvel and why?
Ginny: DC. Because I am first and always a Batman lover.
Comics Ninja: First rule of Fight Club?
Ginny: You just broke it.
Comics Ninja: Nice. What games are you playing these days?
Ginny: Nothing at the moment! I just found out about the setting for Assassin’s Creed 3 today, and so I’m crazy excited about that. And Mass Effect 3 is almost here. Right now my husband has more time to play video games than I do. I’m working on a hundred things at once (or so it feels like).
Comics Ninja: Please don’t let your husband read this interview. He’s going to think you just called him out as a slacker. Moving on, if you could have any superpowers what would they be?
Ginny: Invincible/Invulnerable/Eternal Youth.
Picture right, Ovelia from Final Fantasy.
Comics Ninja: What costumes are you planning in the near future?
Ginny: This year is a very quiet year in terms of costumes for me. I am working on a number of other projects, and although some are cosplay related, they may not involve me cosplaying! I am hoping to get my Dark Crystal costume done this year, but I said that last year! Cosplaying is really expensive so unfortunately I can’t do everything I want to at once.
Comics Ninja: Any advice for fellow cosplayers planning to go to the conventions dressed as their favorite characters in the future?
Ginny: I’ve gotten to where if I am going to be wearing costumes at conventions, I make sure they are comfortable. I will wear crazy high heels for photos, but walking in them kills me. And it always helps to have a buddy who can help you out when you are in costume. :)
Comics Ninja: Any last parting pearls of wisdom or otherwise to pass onto the readers?
Ginny: Always have fun! Cosplay is an expensive hobby and isn’t worth doing if you aren’t having fun. Never take yourself too seriously.
Comics Ninja: Finally, any websites or links we should check out to see more of your wonderful costumes and learn more about you?
