Welcome to part two of our feature of August 2011 Cosplay Babe of the Month, Tanya Tate. Apparently the fanboys (and girls) are rather excited about Tanya so we’ll be sure to incorporate her into the website more often. With that said, let’s get to part two of our photos and interview with Ms. August.

Comics Ninja: What comic books are you personally reading right now? Favorite games?
Tanya Tate: Chew. I missed the last couple of issues, but that is usually a regular read for me. I like JLA, Green Lantern. I don’t play games. I have a WII but I have like maybe 2 or 3 games that are collecting dust. I just don’t have time in my schedule for it.
Comics Ninja: What character would you be if you could be any character in real life?
Tanya Tate: Emma Frost. The power to read people’s minds would be awesome.
Comics Ninja: If you could have any superpowers what would they be?
Tanya Tate: Aside from reading people’s minds? Maybe the power to stop time. There are just not enough hours in the day for me.
Comics Ninja: What costumes are you planning in the near future?
Tanya Tate: I haven’t made a decision just yet. I’ve been fielding fan requests and seeing what they think. I’ve gotten a lot of requests for Power Girl and Ms. Marvel, so those are in the running. Black Canary is a strong possibility. Like I said, I’m always interested in what fans want to see me dressed up as, they can tweet me and let me know their thoughts, @TanyaTate.
Tanya as Electra-Woman at 2011 SDCC.
Comics Ninja: We understand you just attended SDCC, how was your experience this year? Do you think it has changed at all from past years?
Tanya Tate: I didn’t see as much cosplayers this year as I had the year before. Last year I could not take a step without running into someone who was dressed up. This year I didn’t really see as much. I still had a good time though. I dressed up as Electra Woman from the 70’s Krofft TV show. I got to meet Sid & Marty Krofft who loved my updated design of the Electra Woman costume. So that was a highlight. I did a lot of interviews, that took me by surprise. I talked to NBC San Diego, Spike TV, TV on DVD and a lot of others. Some of my pictures ended up on sites like FHM and Playboy’s The Smoking Jacket. So that was cool.
I was able to find some great additions to my collection of figures. Some Vinyl ones and some DC Retro Action figures. Overall, the experience of being there and being in that ambiance is exciting. It’s one big place where everyone is pretty much into the same thing. It’s brilliant.
Comics Ninja: Any advice for fellow cosplayers planning to go to the conventions dressed as their favorite characters in the future?
Tanya Tate: Just go out there and have some fun. That and plan your costume out. If you are making one really give yourself a lot of time and don’t be afraid to ask people for help.
Comics Ninja: What else should the Ninja Nation know about you? What else would you like to pass along?
Tanya Tate: I mentioned that I’m always looking for fan input, so people can tweet me about my costumes, youtube videos, blog or whatever else at Twitter.com/TanyaTate and of course, keep reading my blog, www.JustaLottaTanya.com.
Thanks so much Comics Ninja!
Comics Ninja: No, thank you, Tanya! Well that wraps up another great feature on the babes of cosplay. I have a feeling that this won’t be the last we here from Tanya. Until then, enjoy!
