April 2012, Cosplay Babe of the Month, Camille Bishop as Spider-Woman
Welcome to part two of our feature and interview with April 2012, Cosplay Babe of the Month, Camille Bishop. As suspected, she is a real sweetheart and has provided us with great answers to our questions so far. With that said, let’s get back to the interview.
Comics Ninja: We note that you cosplay both Marvel and DC any comic books that you are reading right now?
Camille: I’m sadly bombarded with literary books, multiple scripts, and music scores while being a current student majoring in Theater. Summer is when I’m able to indulge into my guilty addictions and pleasures of comics! I can say that I’m looking forward to reading a few Star Wars series, the issues of The New 52 versions of Superman and Wonder Woman, and read some older issues of Spider-Woman and Catwoman!
Comics Ninja: And now for the tough part of the interview. Best Disney Princess and why?
Camille: This did make me laugh, thank you! Don’t hate me, but Pocahontas has always been my favorite! As a kid I always compared myself with her, and what my imagination would create! I was an animal lover, always running around barefoot and climbing trees, swimming, etc; the all-around adventurous type girl! I also was ( and still am) in love with the character John Smith! I can say I admire Pocahontas’ strength, bravery, intelligence, spirituality, and passion! Attributes that I strive to always have within myself.
Comics Ninja: If you could have any superpowers what would they be?
Camille: I’ve always said that I would want to be a shape-shifter like Marvel’s mutant, Mystique. To be able to turn into anyone or anything and utilize their powers to a certain extent mutant or not would be an incredible superpower to have. People usually have a hard time deciding between if they’d want to fly, swim underwater, super human strength, etc. But as a shape-changer I can do them all!
Comics Ninja: What costumes are you planning in the near future?
Camille: I want to someday have my own 52 Version of Wonder Woman suit! I might even take on both versions of having pants and the spanks! I’d also love to portray Mystique, ‘Ana’ from Van Helsing as well as one of Dracula’s brides, among a few others. I asked my uncle what suits he’d like to see me in, and he responded with, “ Scarlet Witch, character from Legion of Super Heroes, and Iron Maiden,” and a few others. Who knows what suits my closet will hold in the future!
Comics Ninja: Any advice for fellow cosplayers planning to go to the conventions dressed as their favorite characters in the future?

Camille: My advice would be to bring a friend! I know that I enjoyed the convention experiences much more when I was with loved ones! Plus it was always comforting to know I was at a higher safety level being with company. As for the cosplayers, biggest thing to remember is to not care what other people think! You’re doing this for your hobby and your enjoyment and no one else’s! People’s opinions and words will only hurt you if you let them! I’d take a goal with me: I’m going to talk to or befriend at least one person here and have a great time!
Comics Ninja: Any last parting pearls of wisdom or otherwise to pass onto the readers?
Camille: For the ladies, just remember that what you dress like and pose like is what the public sees and records. So be aware of the consequences that come along with that. For the boys, no matter what your suited up as or what you record, BE A GENTLEMAN! For everyone: Respect is given when it’s received! Treat others as you wish to be treated. Please, please remember that we’re examples to younger eyes that see and look up to us and the characters we portray. And something I like to tell myself on not so cheerful days: “You can be mighty and glorious, if you allow yourself to be!”

And this is why I’m so proud of my lovely niece. As beautiful spiritually as she is physically. Milla (the pet name I gave her that has now become her cos-play persona) may be taking a break from the convention scene for a while as she goes out on her 18-month mission as part of her Mormon faith, but she will always be a wondrous super girl no matter where she is.
