Movies: Disney has released the one-sheet and official synopsis for Mars Needs Moms!, the 3-D animated film based on the 2007 children’s book by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Berkeley Breathed. Breathed, creator of the acclaimed Bloom County comic strip, was inspired by a disagreement between his son Milo and his wife to write a story about a 9-year-old boy who learns how much he needs his mother after she’s abducted by Martians. “It’s both a love letter and a mission statement to all mothers … and parents in general,” the author wrote. “And a message to all of our kids who doubt, in the midst of their wrathful fits, that we wouldn’t die for them. Star Trek: Trek Captains Special To Air Next Week. The Captains of the Final Frontier, a new two-hour Star Trek documentary to be aired on the Bio Channel on Wednesday, November 3 at 9 PM, will focus on the “fearless captains of each Star Trek generation.” In the show, a cast of Star Trek experts will analyze each Star Trek captain, whose “incredible triumphs and epic dark moments” will be discussed with the captains being compared “against each other as leaders and lovers.” TrekToday.com.
