Comics: Preview of Uncanny X-Force #2:Marvel is pleased to present your first look at UNCANNY X-FORCE #2, the next chapter in the new series from the creative team of Rick Remender and Jerome Opeña! X-Force’s mission has gone horribly wrong and the return of Apocalypse is nigh! The team has been scattered across the Blue Area of the Moon and EVA has been terribly wounded at the hands of the Last Horsemen. Industry: Marvel Comics maintains $3.99 pricing in January. From Robot 6 and CBR.com, what happened to Marvel’s new-title price cuts? Doesn’t look like it’s happening in January after all. The Ninja would get all worked up and mention boycotts and what not but with DC lowering their prices the free market should take care of it. Boo to you Marvel.

Manga: New York Times best seller list October 10-16. The New York Times newspaper has listedthe manga bestsellers in the United States for the week ending on October 16. Young C. Kim’s graphic novel adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight vampire novel drops from #10 off the separate Hardcover Graphic Books list for only the second time since its launch. Movies: The Hobbit. According to Collider.com, Martin Freeman confirmed for the role of Bilbo.

Martin Freeman is officially Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. For a second there, it looked like he would miss out due to prior commitments. Then he was the frontrunner. As recently as last week, he was in negotiations for the role. But once Warner Bros. puts it in a press release, it’s official. Can’t wait to see him in the role, assuming the film eludes derailment.
Director Peter Jackson has recruited eight more members to play various dwarves:

- Aidan Turner (Being Human) as Kili
- Rob Kazinsky (EastEnders) Fili
- Graham McTavish (Secretariat) as Dwalin
