The Comics Ninja

Brought to us by Ninja Johnny from Boston, is a gem called Gymkata and frankly we don’t know how we missed this one.  Somebody thought it would be a good idea to have a world champion and, not necessarily, all around tough guy Kurt Thomas star in a movie where he combines his gymnastic abilities with those of either a martial artist or a ninja and then throw him into an inplausible plot where he fights bad guys.

Quite a few priceless scenes where we thank our lucky stars that Mr. Thomas was fighting in a room that happened to have a pommmel horse or uneven bars.  From various comments it appears that the plot boils down to essentially a gymnast being trained by Mr T and a wise Japanese man with an eagle on his arm.  His mission is to win an obstacle course race which in turn allows the American government access to the country which in turn somehow gives them access to all satellites in the world.  Makes about as much sense of the idea of casting Kurt Thomas as a bad ass.
