Welcome back to part two of our feature and interview with Kearstin Nicholson, our July 2012, Cosplay Babe of the Month. All right, let’s get right back to our interview and more of her outstanding photos.

Comics Ninja: We see that you are looking to join the 501st. If you do, what costume to do you plan to wear?
Kearstin: So far I have about 25% of a Royal Guard completed, but it’s been put on the back-burner so many times I’m not sure it will ever happen at this rate!

Comics Ninja: And now for the tough part of the interview. Better bar scene, Tennessee or Chicago?
Kearstin: I actually did not live in the south long enough to drink there haha. I lost an accent in practically kindergarten. However, when really drunk or extremely pissed off, sometimes a little southern Belle comes out. My entire dad’s side of the family is all down there. With the passing of my grandma, RIP, she was the only one that ever called me “Kearsie Fay”.
Comics Ninja: Which movie would you rather watch on a rainy Sunday Big Trouble in Little China or Hot Tub Time Machine and why? Careful there is a right answer.
Kearstin: HA! I’ll opt for the autofail… neither! As I’ve never see either!
July 2012 Cosplay Babe of the Month Kearstin Nicholson as Dark Phoenix
Hello Ninja Nation, it’s hot, damn hot, and we’re only turning the temperature up more by bringing you Ms. July, Kearstin Nicholson. She has been gracious enough to take the time for a two part interview and feature so let’s get right to it with her first question. Enjoy!

Comics Ninja: Kearstin, thank you for joining us today all the way from Elmhurst (Chicago), Illinois. We note that you are originally from Tennessee and will add a southern accent in our head as we read your answers to our questions. Why don’t you take the opportunity to tell us a little bit about yourself and what first got you into cosplay?
Kearstin: I’ve been going to conventions for years, and like most costumers, just seeing others attend dressed up in various characters from anything in comics to video games to cartoons, drew my attention immediately. Prior to costuming, I started off as a model. So the allure of the paparazzi effect was definitely what started it, because let’s be real… we all love attention 
I started costuming in 2009 by having suits made for me, and then not just one year later, I started making them myself.
Comics Ninja: What is your favorite convention or event to attend?
Kearstin: It’s actually a tie between two! Since I’m up in Chicago, I love C2E2. I t’s a baby-convention but it is the sister convention to NYCC. Let’s also not forget the superbowl for costumers; Dragoncon. I would be happy just attending these two the rest of my life, but we all know that the draw to go to as many conventions as you can happens all the time!
As long expected Denver and the Rocky Mountain Region have been more than ripe for a good comic con. The Ninja Comics crew hit the convention in full force enjoying the panels, exhibit room, cosplayers and after parties to the hilt! It is estimated that, with 10-15,000 attendees on Saturday alone, this was most likely the second largest opening of a comic con ever.
The convention floor and the streets outside were flooded with cosplayers and a high energy crowd ranging from kids and twenty somethings to middle-agers, families and everything in between. All seemed to be exploding with pent-up geek energy which didn’t slow down until the final bands left the stage at the Hard Rock after hours shin-dig.
The buzz was so strong it was hardly even noticed that not even a single major publisher made an appearance on the floor or that the convention could have used some more exhibitors selling actual comic books. Nit picky really, and the “Fantastic Pour” craft beer made just for the con by Breckenridge Brewery, made up for any short-comings.

Welcome back to to part two of our feature with May Cosplay Babe of the Month Jessie Pridemore. Great interview and photos so far! Now, let’s get to part two of our interview with Jessie.

Comics Ninja: What comic books are you personally reading right now? Favorite games or Anime?
Jessie: Continuously, I read xkcd, SMBC and Menage a 3, which are web comics. I am reading the Supergirl reboot and I was reading Hellboy before Mignola decided he was finished with Hellboy. Breaks my heart. I really don’t read as many comics as I should or as many as I used to, but I do keep tabs on them.

Favorite games. I’m a fan of anything Zelda, but Majora’s Mask is my favorite. I love Onimusha, Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil 3. Lately I’ve been reminiscing about older games I played like Snake Rattle and Roll and The Adventures of Lolo. I would be the happiest person in the world if they remade Lolo. Always a fan of the Metroid games. I wish I was better at games like Gears of War, but I’m terrible at them.
Jessie: I’ve watched a lot of anime over the years. Cowboy Bebop is still my number one favorite. But I also really like Ghost in the Shell, Galaxy Express 999, Armitage III, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika, ANYTHING involving the Fate series, Evangelion, Summer Wars… I’m sure there’s so many others. But there’s a few.
Comics Ninja: Wow, some great choices in there from Cowboy Bebop to Zelda. We’re sad on the Hellboy front as well. And now for the tough part of the interview. Better bar scene New Orleans or New York and why?
Jessie: Aww. I can’t really answer this question. I wasn’t of age when I lived in New Orleans and I didn’t start drinking til I was 21. Sorry!
